Des Moines, IA (December 7, 2007) - The Iowa Energy will be giving the “jerseys off their backs” to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association at the Energy home game on Friday, December 14th. The Energy will take on division rival Sioux Falls at 7:30 PM that night.
As part of the Energy’s Miami Heat affiliate night, the team will be wearing authentic Miami Heat jerseys. There will be a silent auction during the game where the players’ jerseys will be auctioned off to the most generous bidder. The winning bidders will be able to have their jerseys autographed and their pictures taken with the players after the game. Autographed photos of the players, and other basketball items, will also be available in the silent auction.
The Iowa Energy and winning bidders will be helping nearly 500 Central Iowans who are living everyday with a neuromuscular disease. The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a voluntary health agency dedicated to finding cures for muscle wasting diseases such as ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). MDA provides services such as clinics, flu shots, support groups, therapy sessions, summer camp, research, and medical equipment for patients in Central Iowa.
Tickets for next Friday’s game can be purchased at the Wells Fargo Arena Box Office, all Dahl’s Foods locations, by calling 866-55-DAHLS, or online at dahlstickets.com. Season tickets or group tickets may be purchased by calling the Iowa Energy office at (515) 462-2849.
