Plays of the Month

No shortage of playoff highlights

May 27 -- The playoffs feature the NBA's best teams going at it to see who will cut down the nets come the end of June. With the level of play rising, it stands to reason the level of highlights should rise too.

This remains the case through the first two rounds of the postseason, as the Conference Semifinals brought another outstanding collection of thunderous dunks, behind-the-back passes, and LeBron James fastballs.

I daresay at least three of the plays on this list I've never seen before.

Kendrick Gets Mozgov-ed :

As Yogi Berra once said, it's like deja vu, all over again, as Blake Griffin rocks the NBA universe with his Mozgov-esque cram on the Thunder's Kendrick Perkins.

2
Over The Top :

Poor John Lucas. He just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, serving as the foil for LeBron's "Vince Carter at the Olympics" impression. An incredible feat, and one worthy of taking over the top spot on the Top Plays Ladder.

3
KD Beats The Buzzer :

If the game is on the line, you can bet Kevin Durant is getting his hands on the ball. The Mavericks learned this the hard way.

4
Rudy Can't Fail :

Everyone loves a no-look pass, but Rudy Fernandez took it up a notch or two with his no-look alley-oop to Kenneth Faried.

5
Eyes In The Back Of His Head :

Ricky Rubio is done for the season, so Danilo Gallinari has taken it upon himself to carry the banner of slick-passing Europeans. Was this one better than any Rubio had this season? You decide.

6
What's In A Name? (A Great PG) :

Isaiah Thomas makes a no-look pass his namesake would certainly be proud of against the Spurs.

7
The CP3 Show :

Chris Paul is a wizard with the basketball in his hands, as he reminds the Utah Jazz on this play.

8
Not In Hayward's House :
thumb

Gordon Hayward makes it his personal mission to make sure no one scores on the fast break. Not on his watch.

9
Rudy Does It Again :
thumb

Some players just have a knack for the spectacular. Nuggets guard Rudy Fernandez is one of those guys, and he's at it again, with this improbable buzzer-beater against the Clippers.

10
Wade The Magician :

Dwyane Wade uses nearly every trick in the bag to get this basket to go against the Wizards.
